SUMMER CAMPS 2021

My Artlab Summer Camp is back in our Leslieville home garden and studio this summer. We are set on running as fun and as creatively challenging programs as ever and hope to see old and new friends join us. Besides being wildly creative, this year we will need to pay more attention to discipline and listening ears will be more important than ever. We will have public health measures to follow and want to do this as unobtrusively and as quietly as possible so we can be loud and expressive with our art, of course! With six children in the group as last summer and this fall you can rest assured that ample attention will be paid to each child and quality of their experience. And now, here is something to look forward to:

JULY 5-9

MY CHAIR DESIGN ages 9-12

Children will be guided through a creative process on developing and executing an original design for a chair. Over the course of the week they will be surrounded by plenty of visual references, interesting materials to play with and test ways of expressing original ideas and all the help needed to create a 3D prototype.

JULY 12-16

THE MAGIC FLUTE ages 6-9

Children create paintings, collages and models that evoke the fantastical story of Mozzart’s opera.

JULY 19-23

TICKET TO RIDE ages 6-9

Children visualize a perfect train ride, from a type of train and time in history or the future, to a map of their journey, what they see through the window and what it is like inside. This is one ticket money will never be able to buy!

JULY 26-30

INSIDE THE PAINTING ages 6-9

This week we will enter a painting, take a good look around (so much to look at!), go for a walk, meet the characters, enter the buildings and invent our own story about it.
